Associate market: update April 2020

The market has noticeably contracted due to COVID-19, although we continue to see demand in areas such as Restructuring, Insolvency, Employment

The Associate market has noticeably contracted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, although we continue to see demand in areas such as Restructuring, Insolvency, Employment etc (understandably). We have also been instructed on new roles across media litigation, securities litigation and FS Regulatory, Corporate and Real Estate Finance - all of which are due to an increase in work in the team.

Many firms are now open to the prospect of interviewing via video-conference for first (and sometimes second) stages, with a preference to meet in person once restrictions are eased. Firms remain quietly confident despite the current situation, with nearly 70% of firms predicting a 10-30% drop in revenue for 2020/2021 (Maurice Turnor Gardner survey).

We remain instructed on a wide range of roles in various practice areas. To view a selection of available roles, please see our Roles page on our website.

Our Consultants can provide a confidential discussion about your particular position in the market and potential opportunities specific to your specialism. Please call 0203 815 6800 for further details.
