Epic fundraiser helps three charities and sends another two Kenyan children to school

We were lucky enough to be blessed with beautiful blue skies and amazing views over London up at 48.8 metres for our epic fundraising challenge last November at the Spurs Dare Skywalk.

Nerves were most definitely tested and, for some of us, even fried on that glass walkway! But so worth it for the three charities we supported. We raised over £1,770 and RedLaw’s very kind match of our total gave us a grand total of £3,540 to split between three charitable partners close to our hearts; Momentum Children's Charity, Cancer Research UK (CRUK) and The Red Rubber Ball Foundation.

And here's one of the reasons why we did it. Meet the Kenyan children we sponsor through the Red Rubber Ball Foundation. Funds donated have allowed us to pay for the completion of Cynthia and Bonventure’s four year secondary school scholarship.

The money we raised will also sponsor Vivian who is need for funding for the remaining three of her 4 years schooling. Vivian is 15 years old and lives with her mother and grandmother near Kisumu, close to Lake Victoria. Her father had assaulted her and chased the family away. Her mother now sells vegetables in the markets to raise fund for her and her younger sister. She enjoys singing.

And there’s even more good news. We can also pay for the first 2 years of a 6 year scholarship of a child who will start secondary school next April. We can’t wait to find out the child’s name and learn about them. Just to think about the next epic fundraiser for our team!

William was the first child we sponsored back in 2015 – he’s now at IT College. We’re so proud to be able to have helped change the future of 5 children who would have otherwise most probably never have escaped the poverty trap.

Over 265 children have been funded to attend school since the Red Rubber Ball Foundation was founded in 2010. A truly remarkable achievement.
