Does your CSR strategy make a real and meaningful difference? Please take a moment to watch this powerful video.
As I kick off q2's marketing activities after the Easter break, which includes planning our annual fundraiser, it got me thinking - how lucky I am in my role at RedLaw Recruitment that the leaders and our entire team so actively support charitable organisations.
Some businesses see corporate social responsibility as nothing more than a checkbox item to include in their annual marketing strategy. A mere formality so it looks good in award submissions and client tenders.
However, this approach only pays lip service to the true spirit of charitable giving and is such a lost opportunity in making a real and meaningful difference. Partnering with the right charity, such as The Red Rubber Ball Foundation, can have such a transformative power on individuals and communities in need, near and far.
I’m proud that at RedLaw Recruitment we genuinely embrace CSR, not just for the sake of publicity, but because we are committed to making a positive impact.
And what an enormous and life-changing impact the fabulous work of our dear friends at The Red Rubber Ball Foundation continues to have for so many children out in Kenya. Over 300 children have been supported through their scholarships over the last 12 years. That's 300 children who most probably would have missed out on their secondary education and succumbed to the inevitable poverty trap. Even more poignant today with my children returning to school with their right to education, something we just take for granted.
Their video, linked below, tells their story and provides a wonderful example of what a difference your CSR efforts can truly make.
We are honoured to be supporting the The Red Rubber Ball Foundation for another year. The team is excited for our next epic fundraising event to raise all important funds to enable us to sponsor our 6th, possibly even a 7th child for 2023/2024.
What meaningful difference can it make? William, the first child RedLaw Recruitment sponsored, is now studying ICT at the Nairobi Technical Training Institute; Cynthia and Kashindi (know as Bonventure) are both in Form 4 in their final years; Vivian is in Form 3 and our most recently sponsored child, Anne, is in Form 2. Through these scholarships, these children have changed their lives and those of their families for the better.
Please do visit Red Rubber Ball to find out more about their work and how you could get involved. And we'd love to hear from you with any ideas for our next team fundraiser. Last year we conquered Tottenham Hotspur's Skywalk and this year we need to go bigger (please not higher!!)
